Next Full Moon for 2014 – August 10th , 2014
Full moon drum circle party is commonly held between 85st and 79th St. That’s on the wonderful sands of Miami beach, around Collins Ave. Serious drummers attend to the Full moon eve, since less people is aware of the previous day celebration. Both days, Full moon and full moon eve are filled with music (and people) playing and dancing.
Beware that last time police disrupted drum activities very early on. Many people use this opportunity to drink (which is prohibited) and use some other substances (also prohibited) on the occasion. Drum circle people try to stay away from all this, since their main intention is to have fun and a monthly day to play with fellow drummers.
Since then both events start earlier to avoid police intervention and angry neighbors [8:30 – 9:00 PM]

at Collins & 85th (or somewhere thereabouts).
I plan enter through the park gate at 85th before sunset (sunset is around 8PM) while it is still open and hope that I’ll be able to use that park gate when I leave around 11 or 12.
Police and park security are turning this into an adventure. I know one guy who got arrested for an outstanding warrant on a traffic ticket that he had paid long ago, another who got arrested for peeing in the bushes, and that’s just what has happened to the people I know. There are also reports about the circle is ending up in different places, anywhere from 75th to 85th. Some people found it last month, and some didn’t. Good luck, everyone (and don’t give the cops a hard time – you won’t win that one).

i went to drum circle again yesterday the 28th nd i had a blast like always .. i almost didnt go cause of my mom but she ended up goin with me 2 <33 love you mommmy i danced alot nd meet new ppl nd just enjoyed the beautiful night wit my best friends sazkia and jenny ,…. hopefully goin to the next one

Make sure the Lunar calendar is for Miami’s time zone. Some of them give you GMT dates.

Ive been going to the drum circle for years but about 2 months ago my amazing girlfriend got me a djembe and the drum circles have never been the same. Something about it makes you feel in touch with yourself and nature. It might sound corny, but dont knock it till you try it. to anyone reading this, even if you dont have a drum, go out to the drum circle, let lose and be free, and i guarantee you will have an amazing time.
I assume it will still be on for tonight since the weather has cleared significantly. This will be my first time going. Will there be a fire tonight? I wasn’t sure if that was allowed on the beach.

It was my first time going to this event last night July 25th 🙂 And I have to say drum circles are one crazy party. I was dancing in front of everyone drunk out of my mind and blown. God,nothing feels so great with the rain on you and percussion being hit. Simply jammin free spirited. Notice how human’s can come together again with waves of frequent sounds.

As the Leo/Aquarius Full Moon approaches, we are filled with the Magic of infinite possibilities. The Sun,our center,sits the last degree of Aquarius: 29º. From this degree of completion,the Sun dances with the Moon, opposing from 29º Leo. Again* we face closure in parts of our life, symbolic of the 29th degree (the last, or 30th degree of each sign). At the threshold once more,we face dissolution and rebirth at once. What area of our life is affected? The area indicated by the houses and ruling planets involved. Plus any natal or transiting planets, which add flavor and color to the fray. The most important denominator is the mind;so our perspective and resulting feelings regarding the situations we live:there is the rub. Even talented astrologers cannot determine this; it depends on our state of consciousness.
The zodiac is composed of six sets of opposing signs,which symbolize six basic “archetypes” of human nature. Aquarius and Leo,for example, rule group and individual identities, respectively. While Leo (specifically, Pluto in Leo: all born between 1938 and 1957) is called the “me” generation, Aquarian values include group movements and egalitarian values. The New Moon which began this cycle in Aquarius (Feb. 2, Candlemas), was tightly conjunct the planet Mars (confrontation). The sun, moon, Mars, Neptune and Chiron were all in Aquarius. In world events at the time, we observed momentous events in Egypt overturn a 30 year cycle of tyranny (a Saturn cycle). A Google executive, straight from an Aquarian plot, became the Voice of the movement of hundreds of thousands, imparting courage (Leo) and extending its message to millions via the Internet (Aquarius). The overturn of a 30 year regime took about 10 days. Fueling it were youth that form the Wave of Indigo children born in the late 80’s to early 90’s… Children born during the triple conjunction of SATURN/NEPTUNE/URANUS, all in Capricorn. In the midst of that cycle, other youth brought down the Berlin Wall and overturned the communist dictatorships that had ruled Eastern Europe.
That New Moon,already energized by the birth of the Year of the Metal Rabbit in Chinese astrology, was also the first Lunation after a total lunar eclipse (Dec. 21) and a solar eclipse (January 4). The first lunation after eclipses often sets the tone for the agenda to be developed over the next 6 months. By house and planets, I have observed this tendency. Perhaps our minds and emotions are too unformed, confused during eclipse season. At the following cycle, events push us forward and our Intention at the time grows, until the next eclipse (June 1st).
Let us say that the backdrop for the Full Moon’s very dramatic stage is the New Moon. What we planted then, returns to us now.
Since most are not aware even of the basic Moon phases, no relation is seen between the two, and we are unconscious at both times.
Both phases,light and dark, correlate to our biorhythms and to Earth’s cycles. They form 13 DOORS or thresholds,where the “mind”
recedes, and Intuition and feelings come forward. During each Lunation cycle, we get to explore, change and experiment with one facet of our life. When natal planets are involved, habitual patterns related to the planet/s get activated. Old, familiar scenarios “return” so that we may have another go at it, reflect, act in a more conscious, compassionate way…they are opportunities disguised as “Oh, no! It’s all happening again!”. And so, we keep peeling the Onion, which is ourselves.
During this Full Moon, the Sun is joined by Neptune (28º Aquarius), inspiring us towards the new Vision of ourselves emerging. Chiron completes the trio (0º Pisces) and points the way to healing very old wounds. All three oppose the Moon, marking a transition. Healing the wounded victim is a seed theme of Chiron in Pisces, newly born in that elusive sign only last week. Relationships are under the scrutiny of stern Saturn as Venus travels through its Capricornian home , Venus, emerging from its recent, passionate encounter with invisible Pluto, slowly gains clarity and detachment as it tests the validity of all our relationships.These themes culminate right now

The Moon, which changes signs every 2 1/2 days, is the most rapid cycle we relate to. It is highly visible. It rules our internal clocks,so we respond to the Moon’s influence instinctively, automatically. THE MOON is associated with imagination, intuition, magic,mediumship. It inspires poets and visionaries, evokes our feeling nature, our darkness as well. It is related to all women’s cycles and processes: menstruation, conception, birth, lactation, nurturing, family, menopause. Its silvery Light illumines the mysteries of female energy, the Receptive or Yin creative nature. Reflecting the golden Solar Light, it dances in perfect unison, creating Reality.
We can activate and connect with the energy of the Moon by aligning our activities and Intentions to its waxing and waning patterns.
Before electricity lit up our cities, people lived, grew crops, etc. by the lunar cycles (13 in one year) and the yearly solar cycle which dictated the seasons. Both teach the “Mystery”of Light & Dark, hot & cold, growth & decay, Life and Death. Both are valuable, both are
needed. The western world’s obsession with constant growth (as in our so called “economy”) is unsustainable, in the light of the cycles of Nature. We are ONE with nature, since we exist.
When we participate in these Cycles, we begin to IDENTIFY with the rhythm of Life itself. Since what is internal is the same as what is external (The Kybalion), since we create reality, this Identity leads us deeper into our own nature. Just as we constantly expand out to the world, we have the need to grow into the inner/Spiritual world. This world is not made of logic, but of dreams, vision, feelings of unity, inspiration. It is cultivated in Silence, in meditation, in song, contemplation. Without the inner world, our life lacks meaning. What we think, say and do are disjointed. Inner practices correspond to the waning(decreasing) cycles of the moon, sun,and planets.
My spiritual Teacher, Maestro Mejías, developed a beautiful ritual and Meditation at each Full Moon. Because of years of that training, the Full Moon evokes in me the Blessing (Abisheka in Buddhism = Transmission) of the Teacher. The sense of entering a sacred Circle of protection painted by the Moon in all its silvery glory. He would call the Moon “la Cátedra” (the Synthesis,maximum authority, Teaching). For over two hours we would sit in the Temple, lit by one candle, listening to Maestro’s special Teaching for that Full Moon; the astrological aspects were woven into the Teaching. Then, Maestro, in his 80’s in 2001, would walk down each row, blessing each and everyone, “anointing” our left hand with a fragrant essence that has always been present with me ever since. Just remembering evokes the sweet, jasmine-like scent. People would travel for hours for the occasion. Outside the Temple, rows of children, miraculously silent,
would receive the Blessing, as well as mothers holding babies. This took a long time. We would sit, blissed out, while Maestro, tireless,
shared Light with all.

Working with the Moon´s cycle means planting Intentions, actions, thoughts at the New Moon, harvesting and celebrating at the Full Moon. It means finding the time to go inside; accessing these GATES where the earth, moon and sun meet and reconnect.
We realign our light bodies with our physical/emotional/mental bodies.

We recognize that both dark and light emerge from ourselves; they are poles of the same Energy. TO DISTILL LIGHT FROM THE DARKNESS. That is the Alchemy of this Leo & Aquarius Full Moon.

Jello! I’ve been to the miami drum circle before but its been ages since I’ve gone. I know it says there’s a drum circle on the eve of the full moon (July 14th) but is it really happening? Because I won’t be able to attend to the Friday one which I’m sure is going to be crazy good since its on a weekend. I really want to go, have my djembe and gypsy moves ready to go, but will someone please let me know if people are showing up tomorrow so I don’t have to waste gas coming all the way from Plantation? Thank you so so much!

I tried twice and asked a cop .I am sure I walked 3 blocks.
Has a leader approched M bch as to making it a monthly event ? I know being on the beach is nice. Is there a local park that might be used.
Some leader must stand up. 79 to 85st does not cut it.
