You might remember Matthew Hill’s video from last year. He just came back from almost a year in Africa and he’s about to start teaching every Saturday for the next six weeks at: 5533 La Gorce Dr. Miami Beach, FL at 11 Am - All levels welcome. Class cost $15.
I’ve taken classes with him at FIU and I can say he’s a great teacher. No only teaches but empowers you to learn and play better.

Matthew Hill is the musical director of Delou african ensemble. Delou was created by Njeri Plato-Dioubate in 1987. One of its main objectives was to portrait and preserver African culture and music, traditional and contemporary in this side of the Atlantic.
Matthew took some time after extensive playing that afternoon to do this interview. He talks about his musical background, some of his colleagues and teachers, performing as a djembe player as well as his experience in Africa.

Jana Broder is a drum facilitator from Tampa Florida and the owner of drummagic.net. Ten years ago, she attended a class on african drumming and got so hook, that she became a drum facilitator.
