Hope you’re not getting soaked! Yes, our rainy season is here for some time, I hope you didn’t use your drum for an extra rain ritual.

Also on Sunday, Drum Church devotees get together for another spiritual journey at: AD Barnes Park – clearing near Nature Center (or fall-back location – see below) 3401 SW 72 Avenue – northeast corner of Bird Rd and 72 Ave 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Notes: If the shady grove (primitive camping area) near the AD Barnes Park Nature Center is not available, we can fall back to the picnic table under the tree by the canal, or, if needs be, the shelter on the other side of that canal (a good place if it’s rainy). Here’s the address of that fall-back shelter for the Google-mappers:
“6990 N Waterway Dr, Coral Terrace (Miami), FL, United States
[Address is approximate]”…
We play inside the forest! To get there, park in the first available spaces to the left as soon as you enter the park, and head into the forest from that side. Through the forest gate, the wooden deck is shaded and has seating.
Surdos, dunns, and other “bottom” drums are welcome; but other than that, hand drums only, please.
The AD Barnes Park people like what we are doing; but they do ask us to please not park in the clearing itself, but to park our cars out by the paved access road.

Kids are totally welcome; but the location is on an unsupervised deepwater shoreline with easy access to the water’s edge. Some parents have found that the need to watch over their kid took them away from the drumming.
