This weekend, Saturday May 7, check out the Coconut Groove drum circle at  8:00 pm
Florentino Plaza, Grand Avenue entrance, below “THE KNIFE” restaurant.  3444 Main Hwy Coconut Grove, Miami, FL Rain or shine.
Bring your own chair since we’ll playing at that little patio… I’m planning to go early, so see you there.

Then, Sofia informs us that the paparazzi are coming to town!
This Saturday 7th The Miami Herald is doing an article on Drum Circles… and a Reporter (David) will have a Photographer (Chris at our Fern Forest Drum Circle to take some Photographs 2:30 PM – 4:40 PM Every Saturday afternoon. Fern Forest Nature Center   (in the picnic area) 201 South Lyons Road Coconut Creek, Florida  33063
Let’s have a big turn out for our 15 minutes of fame.

Stay tune, for the DELOU AFRICA DANCE ENSEMBLE IN CONCERT next 21st of May. 7:30pm at the Little Haiti Cultural Center. $20.00 at the door. $15.00 in advance $10.00  Students and Senior Citizens 55 years and over.Children 12 and is FREE!
Tickets can be purchased in advance @ LHCC Monday Tuesday Thursday Saturday 10 am-5 pm Wednesday Friday 10 am-8:30 pm and Sunday 2:00pm-7:30 pm

Delou Africa Dance Ensemble will present “Wontanara”: Sprit of Dance, Drum, and Music in Unity.  The production is an exploration of traditional African dance, music and history and will demonstrate the impact of African art forms throughout the Diaspora. This full-length ballet will feature music, song, dance, and folklore. The dance & music will depict passages of life such as: Harvest, Courtship, Adversity, Agriculture, Strength, Celebration, and Spirituality.
Wontanara is a collaborative work created and produced by Delou Africa Dance Ensemble and its musical component Delou Fatala. Wontanara is a Soussou word, spoken in Guinea, West Africa, which means Unity.

Last but not least, If you can’t get enough of all the drum circles around town, check out Shanon’s Rhythm CD. Shannon has been participating and organizing drum circles for quite some time and is the person responsible for  drumcircles.net Where, among other drumming things, he’s has single handed listed drumcircles across the United States. Not an easy thing. Shannon is promoting his 101 Drum circle rhythms CD and DVD. Here’s a video from his site.
