		<description>Hi
I wanted to thank you for your responce to my question on Djembe L-list. I was told it was summited privatly so your responce was not approved but a one of my teachers is a moderator so I did get it in an email.

I will try it with a click. :)
Here is the short thread:

I want to try to record an african rythem by myself. Mostly becouse I
can. I have a recording studio and all the drums I need. Alas I am
but 1 person. At first I thought maybe to a metronome but I really
don't like that idea. It would not let the music breath (speed up and
slow down).

What I'm thinking now is playing the basic djembe part (standard
accompaniment) with arangments and breaks and then building the Dun
Dun and other djembe parts around that. That way I can listen for the
breaks to know when to do the changes.

Any ideas out there?

Hi Luke,
you have to play to a click. There's no other way around it if you want to
play everything yourself.
If you want to be able to change tempo, you either program that into the
click or you record two version with the alternative tempos. Then you can do
a transition from one to the other.

Good luck.
